Built on

family.

More than 60 years, three generations and one family business.

Star Poultry began in 1964, in the laundry of the Gubieski family home in Elwood, Victoria.

Founded by Henry Gubieski, what started as a small family operation grew through hard work, strong customer relationships and a hands-on approach to the business. Henry’s son Zyg grew up around Star Poultry and would go on to become part of the next generation continuing what his father had started.

More than 60 years later, that family connection remains at the heart of Star Poultry.

Growing with the business.

As Star Poultry grew, so did its capabilities, its customers and the role it played within Melbourne’s poultry industry.

The business eventually established its operations in Keysborough, developing from its modest Elwood beginnings into an established poultry processor and supplier serving wholesale, hospitality and food-industry customers.

Across each generation, Star Poultry has continued to adapt — investing in the business, developing its processes and building relationships that have lasted for many years.

The next generation.

Today, Star Poultry remains family owned, with the third generation continuing the business from Keysborough.

While wholesale and poultry processing remain an important part of what we do, Star Poultry is also becoming more accessible to the customers who want to shop with us directly. Our Keysborough retail store is open to the public, with a growing range of poultry and selected meats available in store.

The business continues to evolve, but more than six decades after it began, Star Poultry is still built on the same foundations: family, quality, dependable service and long-standing relationships.
